Mission

Who We Are

Rooted in the loving ministry of Jesus as a healer, we commit ourselves to serving all persons with special attention to those who are living in poverty and the vulnerable. Our Catholic health ministry is dedicated to spiritually centered, holistic care which sustains and improves the health of individuals and communities. We are advocates for a compassionate and just society through our actions and our words.

Saint Agnes operates a 254-bed, full-service teaching hospital founded more than 150 years ago, in addition to locations and offerings throughout the greater Baltimore area through Saint Agnes Medical Group, Seton Imaging Center, and Saint Agnes Foundation, which together employ more than 3,000 associates. Saint Agnes also owns Gibbons Commons, a 32-acre mixed-use community being developed to improve the overall well-being of the community. Across the region, Saint Agnes provided $32.9 million in community benefit and care of persons living in poverty in fiscal year 2018.

With the support of our generous philanthropic partners, grateful patients, board members, physicians, and employees Saint Agnes is able to change the lives of those we serve in a meaningful and lasting way. In partnership with our philanthropic partners, the Saint Agnes Foundation provides funding to support Saint Agnes Healthcare’s greatest needs such as patient navigational services, community based services and programs, clinical training, and robust performance improvement, facilities and equipment efforts. Understanding the many aspects of life that impact one’s health, Saint Agnes and the Foundation are committed to improving the overall well-being of the communities and people we are so privileged to serve.

Our Mission defines who we are, why our work is important, and the many ways our service impacts the people and communities we are honored to care for.

Perspective From Our Leadership

“Our team is committed to living and fulfilling our Mission of caring for all persons, with special attention to those most vulnerable, each and every day. We take great pride in the exceptional care and experience our associates provide to those who have entrusted us with their care across our healthcare facilities.”
