The Supper 2017

Every year, The Saint Agnes Foundation holds Baltimore’s most exciting cooking competition, The Supper, an evening of saintly dishes and sinful delights.

During the event, three award-winning chefs went head-to-head against each other in a two-round competition during which Chefs Mark Levy of Magdalena and Neill Howell of The Corner Pantry competed in the first round, with the winner, Chef Levy, competing against last year’s champion, Chef Zack Mills of Wit & Wisdom. Each round featured a surprise ingredient that the competing chefs were unaware of until moments before the clock countdown began – jumbo lump crab for the first round and oysters for the final round.

A panel of eight judges voted on each round, providing their insights and feedback to the event emcees, “Top Chef” Bryan Voltaggio and Atlanta Magazine food editor and Baltimore native Julia Bainbridge. The more than 450 guests in attendance had the opportunity to participate in a second competition – the selection of the crowd favorite – after enjoying recipes from each chef, prepared by one of Baltimore’s top caterers, Linwoods. That winner was also Chef Levy.

Following a heated cook-off, Chef Mark Levy of Magdalena was named the 2017 winner of The Supper, the largest fundraising event for the Saint Agnes Foundation, presented by The Law Offices of Peter Angelos, P.C. The second annual event, which took place on April 21st, at Loyola Blakefield, raised more than $500,000 for the nonprofit organization that provides funding to support Saint Agnes Healthcare’s greatest needs such as patient navigational services, community outreach, patient wellness educational programs and robust performance improvement efforts.

The Supper’s lead sponsors were: The Law Offices of Peter Angelos, P.C., Brown Advisory, Whiting-Turner, BRG Healthcare, Emjay Engineering & Construction Co., Coppin State University, The Cal Ripken, Sr. Foundation, RCM&D, Saint Agnes Federal Credit Union, Callison RTKL, Crockett Facilities, Kaiser Permanente and CEP America.
